Texa Tribox Mobile receives "Motortec 2005 Innovation Gallery" award
Tribox Mobile, Texa’s advanced diagnostic system, received the Motortec 2005 Innovation Gallery award for outstanding innovation in the “Vehicle diagnostic equipment” category at the Motortec Trade Show in Madrid on 11 May 2005.
The jury, made up of representatives from technology centres, university technology departments, consultants and leading technology journalists, chose Tribox Mobile as this year’s most innovative workshop tool.
Receiving the award, Miguel Lopez, Technology Manager for Texa Iberica, commented: “We are very pleased that the new Tribox Mobile system has won such a prestigious award. Our engineering department has worked hard to develop this unique tool for the European aftermarket. Tribox Mobile gives workshops access to a vast range of information, it simplifies routine and special maintenance operations, reduces the amount of time required to perform repairs and helps them to raise customer service standards. Texa has developed solutions in the design and production of multi-brand tools for car, motor-cycle and industrial vehicle diagnostics. Its product range consists of different solutions that are classified according to the type of product: stand-alone hand-held tools – inclusive of the diagnostic modules (which are incorporated), and diagnostic interfaces - that must be connected to a display unit to make use of the graphic and memory resources and data storage and print functions.
Tribox Mobile belongs to the second group and is the latest in Texa’s series of advanced interfaces. When connected to a display unit it covers the full range of auto-diagnosis and traditional diagnostic functions (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc). It is suitable for diagnosing cars and commercial vehicles and satisfies all the requirements of the modern workshop. The use of groundbreaking technology and a highly modular structure make it the ideal tool for every repairer, opening up new horizons in the field of remote diagnosis, with data being sent directly from the vehicle on the road.
Tribox Mobile is a versatile solution that can be used with different diagnostic modules: the module for accessing the auto-diagnosis functions of all on-board electronic systems; the measurements module for all electric and instrumental tests (oscilloscope, multimeter, pressure gauge, etc.); the battery probe module for testing the battery system, start-up and charging, and the TNET module for analysing the electric status of networks (CAN, VAN, LIN ...).
The operator can thus use Tribox Mobile to perform the complete range of vehicle diagnostics operations simply by replacing the electronic module in the tool.
This means that in future, when it may be necessary, for example, to diagnose hydrogen-powered vehicles, the repairer need to buy the relative module and insert it in the instrument, without having to replace the diagnostic interface: a convenient and cost-saving solution that provides a guaranteed return on investment!
Tribox Mobile also exploits the latest developments in electronic technology. The connection with the display unit and PC can be established via a GPRS module as well as via cable and Bluetooth, making remote or “tele”-diagnosis possible. The instrument, which is installed on the vehicle while it is travelling, sends information to the workshop via GPRS. This exclusive function is fundamental for solving problems that arise in specific situations, which can thus be analysed the moment they occur.
